Background.

August Sephora wasn't a child to ask much, apparently that wasn't in his DNA. He lived with what was told him and that was enough for him, he would happily go on with his life. However, there was one single question that the kid couldn't stop himself from being curious about and that was where his mother was. Ever since he could remember it, the family was his father and the little boy.

"It us two against the world, my bright buddy." His father would always say and August happily accepted that. His father was his hero, the man he wanted to become once he grew up.
When he was 5 years old, the man decided to move from Korea to America. August was heartbroken but he accepted and followed his father to New York.

Of course it took a long time for the little kid to grow used to the new big city. He started to make many friends in his school and was getting used to the new life; one day, when his father picked him up form the school, the older man said he had news and once the boy stepped inside of his house, a woman and two older boys around age 10 and 12 were in his living room.

"Gus, this is your new stepmom, Sam. Please be nice to her and your new brothers, Julius and Mark."

Those words made the boy's world turn upside down for a second. They had been living there for just one year and his father was getting married? What about his mom? What about August? What if he didn't like the woman?

Of course those questions were never asked as the little boy just nodded and turned around to go to his room. His room was the biggest in the apartment and had the biggest windows as well; August didn't really like being in the dark. The daylight made him be way more comfortable and happy. It was almost like it gave him energy and strength.

August couldn't explain why, but he could never feel comfortable around his stepbrothers, he tried to address the matter with his father but the man just told him that he had to get used to having brothers and everything would be okay. Their mother, Sam, on the contrary was someone August actually liked quite a lot given that she was kind and treated him well; that was the only reason why the boy accepted actually having her surname as his own.

One year after the family of two had turned into five, August understood why he was so scared of his two brothers as for the first time the boy was locked into a wardrobe in the dark and couldn't stop crying. He couldn't tell how long it took to one of his brothers to actually release him, but in the middle of crying he started to think of the daylight and its warmth which lead him to calm down enough to sleep even being in the darkness.

Being picked on by his brothers, especially Julius, became a normal thing and for three years the boy tried his best to avoid them. However, he couldn't really escape as at his school things were going downhill as well. He seemed to be picked on a lot and he couldn't make anything to stop it.

Until he was 10 years old and after getting home from, he knew something was going to go terrible wrong when his brother held him against the wall and he felt his inside boiling. On that moment, he was pure heat and Julius never got to hit August bad as it happened before, because the younger boy actually hit back.

After that day, he started to just lock himself in his room. He never felt the heat again, but he knew it was there on that day. As for school, he started to fight back as well and maybe that was the reason the boy was actually getting good at fighting. Not that he was proud of it; it was his survival instinct.

One day he got home and suddenly the news they would be moving, got him by surprise but it was highly welcomed. What he didn't know was that for the next three years the family would be moving around endlessly, always with a really evasive answer from his father whenever he asked why they were doing it.

When he was 13 years old, the answer came as his father sat him down and told him about a beautiful woman with shimmering blue and gold robes that approached him one day 13 years before. She was pure light and for his father, she became the love of his life. They spent a very short time together because the woman kept talking about how some forces would work to keep them apart and as sad as it was, the older man accepted that he wouldn't be with her for a long time. Hemera was her name and she was a goddess.

The goddess vanished without a word, but not long after that on the brightest day, his father came to meet a baby that was as bright as the woman and he was told to name him August.

"This is my last gift for you, cherish this boy because he will be beyond special. You will need to be careful as he isn't a common baby, he is a demigod and every monster will be trying to get him killed."

That was why they had been moving that way; and also the reason why he had to go away as soon as possible because as he grew older, he became a threat. Of course he couldn't believe it at first, but soon the memories of the heat and all the weird times he was sure he was being followed hit him and August accepted on that moment that he was a demigod.

On that very same day, he bid his goodbyes and left the house with his father as the man said he would be taking him somewhere safe. They traveled safely for 1 hour until something made August nervous. The night was slowly approaching and the boy only grew more and more nervous.

As his father suddenly stopped the car, August ran out of it before he saw the older man open the back door and hand August an ace and tell him to run with all his might within the woods, he would find a safe place.

"Go! And don't look back, Gus. You'll be safe there and I promise all of us will be safe out there. We will meet again! If anything moves around you before you find the camp, you have to hit it with the ace."

Those were the last words August heard his father say as he ran into the woods, trying to find a path. He was holding the ace as if his life depended on it, because after all... It did.

The boy didn't remember much of that night, he remember swinging the ace a few times but never stopping to see if he had actually hit something. But as the stars started to come out, he was losing all his strength and on when he was sure death was upon him, a path showed itself to August.

Next thing he knew, he was passing out as Theos welcomed him. An ace on his hand and his mother symbol shining bright above his head. He was finally on a place he would call home.

More will be added.

Personality

August is pure light, even if he doesn't open his mouth to say a word, people will feel his warmth and that is what attracts people to him. He may be serious but he will still look like someone you will want to have around.

As a small kid, August knew better that staying quiet would free him from many unwanted situations. He wasn't really much of a talker unless you got him started on what he liked the most, that was the day, the wild and warmth of the sun.

However, once he became 7 years old, his personality started to change drastically. From a quiet boy he became a really talkative and popular boy, even if at home he still preferred to be quiet due to the presence of his stepbrothers. He was the friend everyone wanted to have around, because he would be there to help them whenever they needed him to.

He usually is really calm but people know better to not push his buttons. He would get too annoyed and that wasn't a beautiful sight to see, principally before he got a better hold of his powers. Once could say that his favorite way of hurting someone was to be sarcastic and quite certain about what he would tell them.

He is really resentful, so people better never break his trust or make him angry at them, because he will hold that grudge for a long time and make sure to show that the person was wrong. And getting his trust back is hard and a difficult path, but it will show to be worthy in the end if he is important for someone.

He is really sweet to the younger ones and to the people he cares about. He would hold the world for someone if that meant they would be okay and he would do it with a smile on his face. His trusted ones aren't many, but he sure loves them as much as he can.

August is a leader, he likes taking the front in the situations and he isn't afraid of being the one held responsible in case his plans or orders go wrong.
